I just got hold of 3D Studio Max 4 and was thinking i might give editing some of the DoD models or if anyone else has any reccomendations for a novice 3DS modeller then please, let me know :)

I was wondering how i would import DoD models.

Download this plug-in which is a Half life SMD Importer From This Website "http://mojo.gmaxsupport.com/Sections/MaxScripts.html"
After installing it into Max you can then use it to import and edit SMD models. Good luck, post if you have any more questions.
