Hey I was wondering if anyone new the sizes of the bunkers used in Charlie? I'm working on a beach map and have made some bunkers already but aren't sure how big they are compared to the ones on charlie.

I'm after these measure meants mostly,

Width of bunker from front veiw
Depth of bunker ie how far back from the front it is
Height of bunker
Height of gap where ya can shoot from

Any help much appreciated :D

well for that i would beleive would require the map or rmf. Which no one can probably give you. But the only thing i can think of, is go in-game, and guestimate how many body widths there are. Then go in hammer, make a brush the size of a standing person, and go from there(argh, forgot demensions of standing person, I'll get them tomarow morning,or search for them)

Why not make other types of bunkers, preferably my favorite, the multi-story observation bunkers:D

This is one of the few situations, when I think it's legal : decompile and see it for yourself.

Decompiling will get you nowhere fast in most DoD maps, as nearly all of them have some textures wadincluded, and no version of WinBSP I've heard of can work if their are included textures.

You can open BSPs in QuArK, and look at them that way.

He wanted brush's dimensions, so don't know what textures have to do with it.

I think he means that it won't decompile if the textures are in the BSP. I'm not sure though.

Yer thats exactly what I'm after, anyone know the authors name on the boards that made Charlie?

I'll pm him and ask if someone knows who he is :D

Author is c0w.

I haven't ever decompiled by myself yet, but I think it'll decompile anyway of where textures are placed.

Why don't you get some background info on Bunkers and make them yourself.
I am making a Bunker.zoo based entirely on Historiacly correct stuff partaining to bunkers in ww2. You can do the same.

I've made my bunkers already, I was just wanting to see how mine compared to the Charlie ones mostly in the way of length, firing slit, height etc.

Mine will be alot higher cause the map detates that they will be higher.

While we are on the subject of measurements, can somebody here give me a link where it states all common dimensions you might wanna use for your maps. Like doors, walls, persons
Txs in advance.

people are 32x32x72

doors are meant to be +8 at least for people to get through easily.

MG positions are 42 high? (not sure on this one though)

Walls etc are up to you on how high they are.

64 would be the narrowest door you'd want, otherwise the player sometimes misses when they're running. Try to make corridors at least 96 wide, so two players can pass each other.
