DoD_Hill_Classic Review

www.dodmaps.com has reviewed hill_classic and it did pretty well

It got a 10/10 in the most important area which is gameplay and an 8/10 in pretty much every other area

The biggest compliment though is that the reviewer said i had improved apon the original hill and is looking forward to my own maps ideas in the future

I like the map, brings back memories (hill was the first map I ever played) The only issue is not with the map but that now there are classes that can set up camp quicky and it takes forever to get out of the allied spawn (or axis I guess is possible too) but there's nothing like fighting a cornered fox ;)

Hey, thanks for mentioning my atm rather crappy site ;) We got major trouble with the downloads.

We played Hill with about 18 players on our server tonight, and it was great. Definately a good remake of the classic hill map with interesting new features!

my only complaint of the map is its over accurate over powerful mortars other than that.... perfect!

yes i love hill_classic (NC17, drop by the Kustom Kettle Serv. #1, we finally persuaded the admins to put it on). i agree that the mortars are a little overkill, especially the totally random ones which kill you (e.g. the caen2 types). lovin it still!

Yah NC17 you did a great job bringing back a classic! I was playing today on the kettle with shifty and it was great fun. Now get to work on your own ideas *cough* beach * cough sneeze *map *cough* ;)

Heya nc17,

I was trying to play this map on the OWP server today but every time I tried...your map put my system into hard lock. :(

Any ideas?

I really want to say good job except I haden't had the chance to play it yet. Another reason why Hill needs to be brought back.

A few people reported this problem and said they get the same thing with flash

I have no idea what causes it but since it only happens to some people it must be a conflict with certain system configurations and some file being used in the map

Yah I get this problem too when I try to go in KK#2 with hill_classic. I also know a friend who has the problem with flash. I guessing just some sort of code problem nothing you can really do about nc17. Hopefully a fix in 1.1

I love it. Same good stuff as the old Hill, but now I have a decent comp, and don't get giant blue rectangles in all the trees. I just miss the manually aimed big gun on the front of the hill. Great job.
