My Garand w/ bayo= no go

Well after spending all day trying to get it to work, I'm calling it quits for now. I might pick the project up later but right now I got two many problems.

1. I spent like 3 hours messing w/ MS, I got good ani's but in-game it gets screwed up after u attack. I checked the smd and it's fine, why it doesnt work is anyone's guess.

2.textures. The metal looks great in HLMV but some how it gets all blotchy and low qual. in game.

So if you think I should keep going let me know and I'll keep trying. the in-game metal problem is strange. I can't think of anything that would cause it to lose texture quality.

Ok I think I know what's wrong w/ the animation. If my eyes are telling me honesty, the end of the animation ends up higher than where it should be, plus I think I made the animation slightly too short.

Why would you want a bayo on the garand? The buttsmack is what makes that gun so damn :cool: .

a garand just isnt a garand without a buttsmack alt fire...

you might as well just add in nomad's or trigger's bayo, put in some joints, and make a simple 'push forward' anim

Yeah me too! lol it just seems out of place if both enfield and k98 have bayos while the garand gets a buttsmack. Don't give up Genie we know you can do it :)

Make sure you have gl_maxsize 512 in your config.cfg, because otherwise it resamples it down to 256. Also, I've heard that if a texture has transparency in it the quality is reduced in-game. You can get around that by seperating the part that needs transparency into it's own texture. Then there's the simple fact that HL filters textures in a bad way.

Well Trigger thanks for the info about the textures. I can't change the transparency texture to a seperate one because im working on the un-skinned garand and it has the trans. plus the entire metal of the gun on one texture.

It looks, sorta ok in-game I guess.

Idea, well just say the model is...."war torn" yes there we go, away around everything :D

I'm currently working on fixing the animation problem right now.

ROFL. I found out why the animation was messed up. I set it to 30 Frames while it should be 84.

yeah. i think a garand with a bayo and a 98k with a buttsmack would be better than a garand with a buttsmack and a 98k with a bayo.:D
