I'm converting the Allied infantry model to a Barney from HL but I want to add more skins (eg have one with MP uniform, another without). How do you do this (can it be done in the QC file?)

I don't know if you can find anything from this link, but it might be worth a look.

decompile the default allied model (everything. qcs, smds, the works) and use it as a guide. generally they come in sections:

note: not real file names, but they are somthing similar

allied_head_x should be one for every class.

allied_body standard torso (body, arms, legs)

allied helmet_x there should be like 1 or 2. helmets for players.

xweaponx_gear the ammo pouches, backpacks, etc. for the models. there should be 1 for each class. xweaponx is the weapon name, so garand_gear would be for the rifleman. alternatively you can place whole model sections in these separate files.

im a bit rushed now so thats all i have time for. hopefully someone else can give you a more in depth tutorial...

Yep I've done that mate but I want to know how to give a Barney more than one skin as it has only one by default

Okay, I might just have it. I will need to create another texture or body group in the qc

I know I will have to create another smd but if I already have one reference how can I create another without writing over the top?
