In my latest works I have been experiencing invisble walls in my map. I have been very carefull with my brushworks and Im 97% sure I dont have any overlapping brushes.

Anyone have had this problem and know what might cause it?

It can be caused by a few things but it is usually with bad terrain brushwork if you have brushes that intersect at a bad angle the colission hull will have errors

Try lower some of your terrain

I think that invisible brushes are coming from bugs of compiler or HL engine (bad generation of player world space clipping. They are unavoidable and you should try a little dirfferent angles of edges, etc. Especially sticking out sharp edges or angled steps (of stairs or ground) until they will be gone. Remember that player is basically a 32x32x72 cuboid with 'sharp' edges too.

Thanks for the info atleast.

The problem still remains though :(

I have a few specific areas where that happens and neither looks like Cageys example. I have tried altering the terrain around one point but it didnt help.

Took a screenshot of one of the problem areas. I painted in the invisible clip hull to show its location...

Make that area shown in the pic a downslope and see if that fixes it if so then your problem is the andly and point of the terrain

solutions:

1. hand clip the area with clip brushes. yours will override those the compiler makes. note that you should also hand clip the bunker, it could be sticking out from that far away.....

2. or visit NS and download Cageys compiler fix that reduces the problem at NS mapping forum thread on cagey's cliptool compiler replacement for Merle's compiler (http://www.natural-selection.org/forums/index.php?act=ST&f=4&t=21248&)

Thanks for the advises, Cageys version didnt help, neither changeing the height, so I guess cliping it myself should be the way here...
