Possibly more model theft?

Any of those models on look familiar? The thompson looks like JAJAHU's tommy, the knife looks like Polygon's knife, the carbine looks like Nomad and Polygon's carbine, default TNT, etc... Don't recognize the garand from DOD but it could be. Just something I saw, and thought you guys should be aware of. Another thing that makes me suspicious is they have no skinner on there team according to there roster. I already said something about it on their comment sheet and message boards because they looked like some things from DOD. I could be wrong, but they look quite a bit like models from this community.

Well, the tommy looks similar.

I think that they're all originally from DOD actually.

Yes, those are definitely all stolen from DoD.

Well i don't know what all the fuss is about, it use to pee me off, but i once made an issue about how i thought someone had ripped some of my work off, but as it turned out i was wrong. But this got me thinking, once i release something on the net for free, then it is no longer mine, and if anyone should use it or hack it for something else then thats fine IMO, i can only hope they remember me in the credits, and if they don't, well theres not much i can say, like i say its not mine anymore i gave it away.

It's a good job the big games companys don't make a fuss about this, else there would of been a few in court ending up with big fines, and maybe a prison sentence, but they don't because peeps who convert stuff don't charge for it, they give it away for free.

So in my eyes it's not theft, when you give something away. but not given credit is morally wrong, welcome to the real world, i'm just pleased most peeps show some respect.

Don't get me wrong though, i feel sorry for those that made the oridinal models and skins, but like i say once you give something away, what can one do.

WTF1/!?1 How the hell does the tommy look similar???

The Tommy is JAJAHU's, I forgot who made that TNT, but I've been using it for Dod for the longest time, I forgot who made that knife, but Polygon skinned it, the Springfield is Whiskas' Carbine and Garand are both my Nomad and Polygon.

What the hell is going on now?? Now these people are actually taking credit for them instead of just converting them and releasing with no credits...

*edit* This never got me mad, but this just pissed me off so much cause it's already happened so many times.

Those are all most definatly Day of Defeat models. The Toomy gun and the Knife were what conviced me. As for that Garand, talk about ****ty, see the abrrel, its got the wood texture on it, and the metal receiver area has also got wood. Someone cant convert for jack****. But regardless, FokkerPro, or whoever, did not create these models.

More errors can be seen on the Metal areas of the Sprigfeild. Who ever this guy is, he sucks.

Perhaps they just used the textures from the DoD models and put them on theres?

It's still stealing cause no credit was given.

I forgot to mention that I had taken the M3 Combat Knife directly from DoD. I have a backup model incase the DoD Staff declines me permission to use it.

Shrug.
The thompson skin was taken from nomads/poly's model, just as a temporary skin. The springfield, and tnt were modeled using concepts from day of defeat beta .25, when they were redone. The springfield skin is taken off of the default DoD springfield for only render purpose. The real skin hasnt been sent back to me. We do have two p/t skinners. Sorry for any misunderstanding.

And BTW hows the hand devin any better.

Actually theres a bit of hypocrisy going on here because reading through the releases during the week I was away I have spotted at least ONE release which is using a skin from a MOHAA model and claiming it to be their own.

Hi, I am one of the moderators from Bf1942.com and wanted to just let you guys know that we have banned fokkerpro from further use of our forums. The news post was also removed (and any further news from him or his mod will not be posted). I know this was stated above but I just wanted to come here in a "semi-official" capacity and let you know that. He had been caught doing this before and had recieved alot of condemnation from the community and at the time and for whatever reason did not get banned (we normally ban for warez and model/texture theft). I would say he is finished as far as anything else he has or will do in the BF community. He had his "2nd chance" (though accidentally) and blew it. At any rate, we strive to have a somewhat professional community there and we appreciate those who bring this to our attention as we cannot police every aspect of these situations and rely on those who recognize the textures or models that are being stolen. Thank you for bringing it to our attention.
