I have a few questions you guys should be able to answer with no prob. Here goes:

I went to the mardy mouse site to setup hammer through a link in this forum.

Question 1: He Wrote This : "Next we will add the latest DoD fgd file to the Game Date File List. Click on the Add button next to the Game Date File list. You then need to find the DoD fgd file. As of now dod.fgd is the most up to date file. This didn't come with my copy of Hammer or DoD, you can get a copy of it from HERE. I put this in a sub directory of the Hammer DoD directory"

My question is I just dled the newest version of hammer so do I have a better fgd file then the one he's calling out to download. The fgd file that I have already is called halflife-DOD2-expert.fgd. So is the one I have better or not??

Question 2: He Wrote This You will need to download Zoner's compiler tools, they will be used instead of the compiler tools that come with Hammer. Zoner tools are more up to date and produce better results. You can find the latest Zoner tools HERE. You might want to take a look at the latest Custom build of Zoner tools as well. Latest as of 11/11/02, HERE.

My question is I don't know which thing to download, I downloaded the one that say's this by it: "Win32 Source
If you plan on making changes to the Windows version of ZHLT - Custom Build, you'll need the above package." So I guess this is the custom build, do I want this one or the one above it said this: Windows executables
(If you're a mapper using Windows and all you need to do is compile maps, get this). Which one should I have??

My next question might be related to the previous one.

Question 3: He Wrote This

Click on the Build Programs tab:
Now you need to fill in the missing program links:

Game Exacutable: You need to point to your Half-Life executable hl.exe. CSG BSP VIS and RAD: You need to point to your Zoner compiler tools.

My question is I went to my compile folder that I setup in the hammer folder and I had folders that were called hlcsg, hlbsp, hlvis, and hlrad, but there's no exe in there folders. Is this because I didn't dl the right compiler or what?

Please guys help a new mapper out. One final question he had this written out as if you were setting it up for dod as a mod and I'm using retail. So I just used dod.exe inplace of hl.exe when he called it out. Is there anything specific that I would have to do because I'm using the retail of DoD that I wouldn't know to do?

Thanks

NO! - wrong version of Zoners. You don't want the source files you just want the vanilla executables. In other words delete what you just installed and download the other version, labelled "Windows Executables" from here:

Also, grab the DOD fgd version from here:

If you want a more fixed up version of the .fgd go here (http://members.shaw.ca/dvdgillen/file/dod.fgd)

I fixed it myself and have fixed all the erros I know of. If you ever have a problem with it use the original version and PM/E-mail me and I'll get it fixed pronto.
