MREQ: Texture Replacement for Forest

06-07-2003, 11:46 AM
ok, so i remember somewhere that you can just replace the texture set for any map with a new one and not have to recompile the map and whatnot. as of now, forest feels like its in vietnam or something. so could someone maybe make it a winter/snowy texture set so it would feel like bastogne or something? it would be secksay. and as always, i would wub you.

TheWhopperSays, you can change the textures of this wonderful map. The problem is, if the map uses more than its own wad file, you will have to edit all the wads.
Launch the HL engine with the -dev command and pay attention to the wad files used while the map is loading.
Then, you can edit the wads with Wally to change the colors or put different textures, with exactly the same name.
Make a backup of the original wads before ;)
Good luck.
