Hey guys,

I know that Dances with Wolves and Ska already put out a horsa model but I've been working on mine for a little while now too and I thought I'd see what you all thought....Its only just begun and I plan to add some more dead bodies, ammo inside the crate, and some other stuff. Let me know what you think.

Warning....Pictures are full screen

Hmm... I'd have to try that out in game to see how I like it. I can't really tell whats different other then the boxes and the guy.

I always thought that the glider looked way out of place so Im adding dead bodies around it and supplies from the glider that crashed. I wanted to do a british jeep to add to the model but I havent gotten around to modeling the jeep yet.

Phfff, everyone's ripping off my ideas now are they? lol

Looks good so far mate, only suggestion is make the guys paras, seeing as they have jus come from a glider. Also add some weapons and shell casing so it looks like they put up a fight.

nice but he needs some blood, and also, it jsut looks like he sat down for a rest... and im gonna do a Trp. Jed and nitpick.. but horsa's usualy carried para's and hes just normal inf.... nitpicking over... good work, but how did the crates get there as the glider crashed not landed, and everythings a bit too neat and tidy. otherwise good job keep at it

LOL. Hey! Thats my job.

The only thing I was going to say was change his patches to the ones from the glider infantry regiment and he wouldnt look so out of place.

how do you do this?

ROARRR!

I love this type of stuff, adding models to mapmodels. So how do I do it? What programs I need? Is it easy?

I have awsome ideas.

All you need is milkshape, studiomdl and a little imagination.

its very easy to do but does require quite a bit of time if you really wanna get summat that looks effective.

Saying that, alot of my stuff only takes about 4 hours tops lol

had this idea floating around for awhile and talked to cheeto about it, I just never got around to doing anything with it until this past weekend. Yeah I know I need the airborne guys, and Im adding more dead bodies and weapons and stuff strewn around to make it look more like a crash site and less like a random glider in the middle of a field like the stock model. I dont know where klown is but since the 1.0 enfield model has no backfaces I was putting some of klowns enfields around the dead bodies along with some stens and a bren. The pictures were just a starting block to get people discussing so I could get feedback and as always you brits are quick to reply ;) I'll bang out a few more screenies later tonight.

Please get rid of the ammo boxes though. They will merely block your view in game, and people who dont use them will have a huge advantage as they will be able to shoot you through them.

Looks good though, but dont go overboard with putting dead bodies everywhere. The chances are that alot of the crew would have died in the crash or been hit by whatever anti air craft fire brought the glider down (im assuming the glider was shot down. does it mention owt about that in the briefing?)

keep up the good work but you better not make it better than mine! lol jk

@ Weasel, I dunno about tuts to be honest. I never used any except devs one on P_models. I pretty much taught myself by trial and error or asked alot of questions lol

My advice would be to make friends with a good modeller and spunge off them for hints/tips. Devin, Marzy, Jed and Russ. are usually pretty good wells of knowledge so jus keep asking them lots of questions till they get pissed off with you lol

Yeah I was playing ingame with this and I forgot that the crates arent on other peoples computer and was getting capped while hiding there....DUH since I was just laying in the open lol. Crates are out, there are about 5 dead paras with full gear laying around....Jed I need permission to use your skins if Im gonna make this realistic as you and ska pointed out. Im also playing around with the idea of reskinning the damn horsa since the low res skin is pissing me off lol. Keep up the feedback guys.

The Horsa model itself is fine, its just the skin is really ****ty low res.

You can use the MK5 sten p_model from my glider if you want as long as you give credit.

Look forward to seeing the next update pic.

lol, so when you take the docu's... You'll pick up anything that lies there? even the guy? or is it attached to the glider model?

You dont have to use my skins to make him a glider pilots. Under the dennison they wore the standard British battle dress and from the way he's positioned it looks like maybe he was dragged out, treated and then left for the axis doctors when the gliders occupants DD7'd.

If you just change the badges on the standard DoD Brit skin you can do a realistic glier pilot without having to worry about trying to put a dennison smock on him.
