Title: Day of Defeat Source Escape Final

Here is Final Release (remake) for all you Hardcore DOD Source players..

Changes:
1.) FPS - 15 to 40 (smoother performance)
2.) Spawn Protection
3.) TnT (1) ea/side of Turrent (allies objective)
4.) TnT (2) Toll Bridge (axis objective)

Special Edition: Bring the pain! Release your affliction on this old sckool orginal map.

Target: (Axis) 2 Guns (Allies) Toll Bridge

Spawn: 16 on each side (32 total)

Information:
1.) Bridge will be destoyed via 2 tnt plantings by Axis
2.) Added (4) mortar by allies spawn to fire by tank and outside axis spawn & Centeral Locations
3.) Auto firing for Gun Torrents included...

The map was better, with the newelfevers, somo textures need some work, and some areas too.

but there are some more important thinks to solve:

-missed a citroen in axis spawn exit:

-the garden was accesible, the houses need work on textures, it does not seem to be a french town in your map.

-missed a sherman tank in this street:

-this way in your map is accesible, in te original not look:

-this area need texture work, and here must be a door, and the tiger tank must be deleted it was not there before.

-And this is a Crazy thing!! delete the ladder that allow allies to climb to roof tops!!:

And if you can change ilumination and eliminte the fog, work more on textures, there are a lot of shadows in map, the original was more sunny, and with less shadows, and also try to put a better skybox texture.

Fps were pretty good
Water is beautiful
Feels like dod_escape

Manually operated Newbels and mortars are good but the automatic and incessant strikes (with stun !) on the bridge area need to be eliminated imho.

dod_escape was supposed to have taken place during Operation Market Garden, in the Netherlands.

P.S. Roke, my version of this has the Citroen (thanks to Surgeon!) :P

Hopefully it will live up to your expectations. It's my first Source map, so it may be a bit rough around the edges to start.

As for Zalec and Glider.... maybe one day. I was actually thinking of making a map based on Vicenza next.

i have one glider version started with a lot of work it could be great, but first i must finished merderet(4 months...) and underfire(9 months working on it!! xD)...

You mean a remake of your remake...

I am currently working on a remake of the original map, you know which. A lucky few pubbers have had a chance to play on some beta sessions before I went to a closed beta again.

Hmmmm, all I can say is thanks for your help and input. I just finished this map like 3-months to make because of work & family.

BTW: The orinal guns (models) I had where crashing the client side when they plant... I have the vmf file, if you care to see it...

I will follow-up on your advise soon just a little tired, need to rest my thoughts :)

FYI, this map has gone down a storm on our 212.187.209.122:27015 =82nd Rangers= EU Battlegrounds Server.
Always brings a fierce competative battle.
My only complaint is that there were 2 tnt dumps around each spawn in the original (i think), the allies spawn tnt dump is a trolley dash, with peeps gettign in each others way to get to it. (I know of the dump out side of spawn over the bridge ;) )
Other than that tho, great map and Well Done. Look forward to anything else you may have in the pipeline.

good to see you made a verison of it im currently working on it too. However im changing the objective system to flags, bomb one just didnt cut it for me and i think if you want to do the bomb objective system you should play this version :)

ps. i still have the bridge :)

ilcannibal I played this map on the 82nd server and love the map. I was wondering if you would be willing to do a CTF version say 7 flags for this map for our tourney www.victoryineurope.net. We cant use maps that use detonation and I think it would be amazing as well as a CTF.

This map played good we tested it last night for the first time and it felt like escape which is good ! i found one thing you need to add is boxes in far right allies pathway that axis have to climb to get in yard just like the original escape .
