Hey there,

I'm Eric, lead to Public Relations for Resistance & Liberation Half-Life 2 Mod. Which is a work in progress WWII Realistic Infantry Simulation set in Normandy, 1944. It is very close to completion with all the foundations set and a solid ingame beta. Some of our key features include:

* No crosshair
* Weight and intertia added to weaponry
* Full balistics added to weaponry
* No HUD
* No death messages
* Revised score display
* An advanced damage system

We are looking to fill Animator positions. We are in dire need of someone who can work with .XSI files and is capable of doing realistic player and weapon animations.

If interested, please feel free to PM me here or go through our Official Website (http://resistanceandliberation.com)

Thanks

lol good luck. Animators are rarer then hens teeth. Anyone who can do it has already been snapped up by a game company.

How come animators have become so rare?

Because convincing animation of human movement is actually pretty difficult and people are "demanding" a higher standard in games. Sadly those amusing clunky anims of days gone by will get you shot down in flames.

I animated a couple of models for Quake 2..... it took forever just to get a ponytail to flip realistically. And that was just simple stuff compared to today. Nowadays you have upwards of 200+ separate animation sets, @ 30-80 frames per set, for just one game humanoid model. This is a HUGE chunk of work to do by hand ( = time = money) and is 50% of the reason much of the industry went to motion-capture. The other 50% is that it's hard to hand-animate better than motion capture.

Yeah. Put it this way, if you *can* do it well, you've probably already been offered a job or working for a game company. The high standards mods demand these days mean that no sooner does a mod release than people start getting jobs at places like Grin.

See FF for all the evidence you want of this.

LOL, the OP is like a laundry-list of reasons this mod won't interest me, but good luck anyway!
