minimap overview switching from 1 level to another

because my map has two distinct floor: the main floor and sewers running threw my map underneath it, I would like to know if it's possible to have 2 minimaps overview one for each floor and having them switch auto when going downstairs or back up again.

When you r in the sewers you then can only see flags and team8's that are on that floor and the same when you r on the main floor.

is it possible? is there an entity that can be triggered in hammer to tell to change minimap when arriving at one level? or not? can you hide flags that should'nt be visible on one floor?

thks for answers.

As far as I know... no, it's not possible. I actually asked the same exact question a year ago for my map, dod_passage. It had the "roof level", the "ground level", and the "sewer level". Of course, my knowledge of such is outdated, but I'm pretty sure it's the same now as it was then.

Well, from my knowledge of DOD:S Mapping, there's absolutely no way, since it's "hard-coded" in DOD:S. It's not so bad, you could always try to make a color-coded minimap with each floor being a different color or something.

yeah I tought of that but then you get a very confusing minimap....

I'm not too sure if "confusing" a minimap can be. What's important is that it gives you a general feel of where you can go and where your friends are. Stock map minimaps are the best. The worst are those who are simple an overview screenshot of the map, which is really annoying because you always have to "guess" where you are (example: dod_outpost, wow, that minimap is really useless IMO, 3/4 of the map is a forest and the minimap is basically just that, you don't really get to see the paths or anything if you know what I mean.)

I don't know what your minimap looks like, but if you base yourself on the Kalt Minimap, you'll see that it portrays very well the idea of a 2 level map.

well I've never noticed how kalt minimap was made loool although I always have my minimap "on" when I play I've never really took a look at how it was made..... lol
