[weapon] Colt with Silencer

I made this as accurate as I could.
I couldn't really find the reference I needed but I think it turned out quite good.
Remember this is my 2nd weaponhack ;)

But comments are always welcome!

I also got some sound I am gonna test now.
I will probably make a w_model.
Also I might even make custom animation(s) for it.

EDIT:
Just discovered that the muzzleflash is still there...
But I presume with a silencer on it you don't really have a muzzleflash right?
Any ideas on how to remove it?
If I got that fixed I will most likely release it together with the sound, cause man it looks and sounds quite sweet.

Muzzleflashes are usually events triggered in the QC file.

Yep, fixed it thanks to Mike ;)
I would have figured it out, but Mike made me do it quicker.

Anyhow, any thoughts on improvements?
- Sounds are done
- Skin is done
- Model is done

* No special animations but not necesary (can be added later)
* I don't think I'll make a world model cause this makes you have the feeling that only you got a silencer and even put it on yourself.

If not, I'll release it.

I know but the thing is that I want it to be as realistic as possible and also ask others if it needs improvement and or I don't get a reply I can do something with or just not enough.

But for this one are just a few tweaks and will probably release this very soon...

EDIT:
What I need to know is how it would look when you pull the top of the gun back and what you should see on a colt with a silencer, so that "extra" screw "tip".
I cannot own or see such a weapon for real unfortunately so, it can be quite hard to find the right reference material.

Hmm looks nice, are you using any references of WW2 era suppressors? There are some really pro looking ones out there. Just that atm the non-threaded barrel and the adapter on the suppressor don't match up very well.

Looks good mate but all the WW2 silencers for 1911s I've seen are alot bigger/thicker. Sure I have a picture of one from the Royal Armouries in the UK somewhere, I'll try and dig it out and post it.

Thanks for the comments.
It was quite hard to get the scale from the images I found.

So if you have, profide me with some good scale reference.
Best would be a image from the side, if you know what I mean.

I want to make this as accurate as possible but I need to know the exact scale, details (front, top, bottom, end, inside).
I live in the Netherlands and the closest I can possible get to such a weapon is from images, or maybe a museum ;)

45 ACP is already a sub-sonic round, so silencing it isn't too difficult, but with WW2 era suppressors it would probably be just a bit bigger, not sure what else to say, I couldn't find any refs that didn't turn out to be airsoft :/

Well I have seen some supressors that are really thick, but you just mean larger in thickness and/or length?

I think Return to castle wolfenstein uses colts with silencers, although that game is not really realistic in much ways, but from what I have found on the web, it did existed.

I'll try to get some RTCW ref, and awaiting your reply.

I have never heard of a 1911 Colt Pistal With SilencerYes, they were made. In very small numbers. For the OSS. Actually, it was the OSS that made the use of silencers popular according to some

The suppressor was first introduced into the United States Army Air Forces before World War II. Office of Strategic Services agents during World War II favored the newly-designed High Standard HDM .22 caliber pistol. The addition of a sound suppressor baffle to the barrel absorbed 90% of the noise. "Wild Bill" Donovan, Director of the OSS, demonstrated the pistol for President Roosevelt at the White House. According to OSS research chief Stanley Lovell[1], Donovan (an old and trusted friend of the President) was waved into the Oval Office, where Roosevelt was dictating a letter. While Roosevelt finished his letter, Donovan turned his back and fired ten shots into a sandbag. Donovan then announced what he'd done and handed the smoking gun to the astonished President.

In reality, automatic guns have to have a slide lock for truly sinlenced shooting, as the action of the slide can be pretty darn loud. However, This is just a game :)
