This is my first post here, so hello to everybody

I am from wiesbaden, germany, 52 years old and even young enough to play games like this.

dod_outpost is a nature map, where the allies are spawning in a cave to take out an old axis outpost, lets say anywhere in france at a warm sunny day, where it seems to be better to make some holidays.

I released dod_outpost_rc1 a few month ago as my third dod map, without knowing this site, using a name of an old dod map. I tried to find out more about the old version and his author, but found nothing about him to ask for his permission.

So here are some screenshots:

you only need the bsp, everything is included in the bsp

or for server admins:

special thanks to Gosukke for the tree models

have fun

I played this map earlier this week on the Band of Beavers server and I must say I was quite impressed. Most people on the server seemed to enjoy it alot too, didn't hear anyone complain.

The various sounds around the map is a really nice touch, and those tree models are beautyful. I wanted them imedietly when I saw them. :)

I really love the forest part. Awesome job.

I wish someoen would remake dod_forest. Look at what Loop has doen with the forest effect. Its so amazing only the Elves are missing. :)

Awesome map Loop.

Beautiful map
Its ground breaking in appearance and I like the rolling hills
It reminds me of CaptCaveMan's Navaronne (http://www.sunlitgames.net/index.php?module=ExDownloads&func=details&fid=236)
The fps are very good even with 20 players
Can something like Forest be far behind ?

Great map. Played it tonight with 16 people or so. It was really fun to play, pretty to look at and explore and ran well. Had no framerate problems while playing it. Look forward to playing it again.

Thank you all :)

makes me a bit proud getting so much positive response :o

hey B@D, have had a very b@d day playing CSS a few years ago... :D

Nubbits, the trees and bushes were original published from a guy called gosuke, unfortunately his website is closed now. He has allowed free use of them. I only used two of his tree models but changed the collision model of them ( the original have been to big ). I will post a download link here the next days.

There are still two bugs in outpost_rc1, they will be fixed in the final version, but i will wait a little while, maybe someone will find some more ...

big thx to piu piu too,
i think you are the guy who wrote me about this forum

glad to be here :)

b@d:
The map gets even better over time and almost always gets the extend vote. :)
What is the possibility of a 5th flag amongst all the boulders in the area between the axis spawn and the mountain flag, in the next version ?

I'm using these in another map of mine also. The collisions are big, but they look pretty nice in game.

WOW. Thank you B@D! I was out of the map loop for a while between moving from Oz back here..so am getting around to trying all the maps released inbetween... played this last night for the first time.

As Rosie says, it is groundbreaking - a totally different feel, look and playing sytle. Its huge! I love the water (muchos spadage underwater) i love swimming down then mobbing someone crocodile style :P

When ye go up over the mountains and then see the forest below ye... :O brilliant. I love the fact that even on a 32 player, ye can sneak about and not run into people all the time, which allows for a more immersive feel.

I finally went ahead and ordered a server just now, ill definitely put this map on the cycle :D

Nice work, keep it up!

thx Rosie, that are good news

What is the possibility of a 5th flag amongst all the boulders in the area between the axis spawn and the mountain flag, in the next version ?

i fear it would create a version conflict in the community, some would prefer the 4 flag rc1 version and other the 5 flag, and, never touch a running system :o
All i want to do is fixing a few bugs and maybe enhance the skybox.

Pistoleer, thank you, i hope your new server will fill up to his limits

found a pretty nasty exploit on this map tonight.

I sent you a PM on this forum B@D so that this exploit doesn't get propagated...if you didn't receive it, let me know and I'll resend it.

Regarding the exploit, Axis can get to the same spot I sent you SS about from the cliff side by jumping on the side of the mountain...
