Base skin created by Wile E. Coyote

The sleeve ranks are fictional, I created them. The shoulder ranks are actual shoulder insignias from the WWII era Soviet Union.

Why the Soviets? Well, I mainly did it because I love WWII and very interested in all aspects of it. There are no Soviet skins out there, so I thought I'd give it a shot. Plus its something different!

Why is it a redux? I previously made a set of Soviet skins for a clan mate, but they were somewhat half arsed. So I wanted to redo the whole thing.

Comments? Suggestions?

I'll give you an A for effort, but there's also the inevitable fact that they are still U.S. models, i.e all the equipment they are carrying on their backs are obviously us army issued so they still look U.S. in a way, if there was a weapon pack that made all the guns look Soviet that would rule.
Just a few things I think you should fix to make them look more like Soviet soldiers.

Change the face so that it looks Russian, not sure if you understand what I mean, but when you look at the default German and us faces you can tell they look the part, because of the facial features. Try and refer to a picture perhaps.

there are still some noticeable things on the models that look U.S. For example "u.s." written on the back of the assault player model. just skim over all of the skins and make sure you didn't miss anything

The colour of the uniform may have to be looked into also, it seems to dark or too light or something.

Okay, let's pretend that they are using equipment from the lend-lease act...

Still just for the heck of it I would replace the "us" anywhere on the equipment with a red star - technically not historical, just to set it apart and give it a different feel than the standard US skins. I really, honestly have no idea what the russian uniforms look like (I could find out), just make sure you incorporate all the changes you can :)

I think they look quite cool, seeing how you would want suggestions here i go.

- the helmet lightening can be adjusted to an extent without editing the model, im sure you could make it look more like a russian not only editing the color and so on.

- might want to overdo color differences like making the hemlet more green, seeing how you really want it to come off as a russian right away.

- As far as i see, most of the gear could be replaced my soviet or soviet looking equipment. http://www.bayonetinc.com/other.htm looks, the models of equipment can fit alot of that. http://www.ostfront.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=rus_ww2_repro heres more too.

good luck

The US Army Lend Leased tons of Webbing and Weapons to the Red Army ;)

Infact a Pistool Belt i own is from Russia as the people i got it from went out there and got a ton of M1936 Pistol Belts that were Lend Leased out.

Same with the M1928A1 Thompson (Not sure if the Red Army ever used it but they got em)

Looking more into their uniforms, alot should be different, the jacket should not have a cut all the way through, it should also be more green along with a greener helmet without the strap ontop.

that is if your making the jacket like whatever tunic they used. an overcoat on the otherhand would fit better and in dod kalt be brilliant, also the tunic could easily be made instead of the shirt underneath there.

:)
