i'm not a big fan of fun-maps, but this came to my mind and i just had to do it.

instead of balls one has to get all the flags. imagine the allies-spawn-room on the left and axis-spawn-room on the right.

i dont think that i'm going to release this one, i just wanted you to have a laugh or something :)

My first reaction was actually a bloody good laughter... because of the amazing idea!

I still wonder how the "gameplay" can actually be realized, and I think, since I can't help piupiu there, you folks probably can?

The main problems piupiu told me about concerning this beauty are the miserable "full-shadow" effects on the flags (which are absolutely dark, even though they should be illuminated by a light_environment, normal lights and selfilluminating textures), and the short capture time of the flags (which should be pressed real far down, considering the "capture speed" each player reaches).

Any ideas?

Cheers,

Albatros

I've played the dod 1.3 pacman map and it was a bit of a laugh for a while.

As soon as everyone found out that you could nade the opponents spawn from within your own it got a bit boring. The walls didn't touch the ceiling. In that one all the powerup pills were flags and there was also a flag in the ghost spawn area in the middle.

There are a lot of us out there who like to play fun maps for a change so you may as well make it and release it. May not go down so well with the majority but I'm sure it will get played somewhere.

dod_bomberman was another one that still gets played a bit.

I did make a very simple Face style map for half life deathmatch that we used to lan a lot back when a friend suggested it after seeing the Unreal Tournament version. I may dig that out one day and make a dod version.

I'd say go for it.

I prefer the non-fun maps over the fun ones.

Fun? Why?
