My system sucks.
I've always had problems with ping/lag, and I've always looked for a way around buying a better computer.
Back when I used to play CS, I remember downloading cell-shaded skins ; which helped me run the game better. As far as the mechanics if WHY it did, I'm unsure. My guess would be that there was less pixels? Anyways, I was wondering if anyone has skinned any cell shaded models for DOD, and if they have, if they could direct me to them. :p

All help appreciated,

Yeah, it's because the texture is less in size and complexity, so it doesn't have to load as much. As for released skins, I don't know of any. It wouldn't be hard to do a simple, bland color skin, maybe I'll do one someday, but don't look forward to it.

I know the way they got cell shaded assets into quake 3 was they got say the machine gun model, then cloned it and flipped the normals, the downside to this was that it had double the poly count. As to whether this technique applies to CS/ CSS/ DODS im not too sure. But im abit confused as to how it enabled you stretch more frames out of your pc, you sure you couldnt just tweak your config to make it look really crappy but run high fps?

Well, yeah. I could.
Thing is, I'm not a fan of making things "look crappy." :p
Maybe it's just me, but cell shaded graphics look pretty damn cool.
