Random entity placement

Hey Guys,

I was wondering if it was possible to have an entity, or group of entities placed randomly within a specified location.

The application is to have an objective(s) and or prop_physics entities randomly placed within specified areas each time a map round is restarted and entities reset themeselves (ie, after a win for a team).

The idea is to give a map a little variance and change up gameplay that can get sterile after awhile, even on a good map. Cheers if that gives you an idea or two ;)

If its possible, Id appreciate the help with:
1.) defining a area
2.) setting up triggers to make it work

Thanks
wt

Have a look at this tutorial on random stuff.. (http://www.snarkpit.net/editing.php?page=tutorials&id=179&highlight=random) you will be able to adapt the random function.

Maybe using a random placement thing to move a group of said objects pre-placed in the map to the random place...

I'm sure it can be done

You want to recreate an effect like in the CS map cs_havana? (Some doors/tunnels were open or closed randomly every match)
