hey man, keep it up. i didnt even start to feel confident with hammer until 30 to 50 hours or so into it. it takes lots and lots of time to learn stuff, and more to get comfortable doing it at a fast pace.

and yeah, i suppose all you guys do deserve a thank you. I'm pretty bored with the stock maps.

You were very quick in feeling confident then....to me it takes at least 100 hours to start doing things without thinking "right, is this the right way?"

Knoxville -- keep at it....I know the feeling -- sometimes, it takes me an HOUR to texture one building! LOL

....maybe in 100 hours, I'll feel comfortable (course that will be in another year! ;))

My hat's off to ALL the custom mappers --- without them, the Sauce would be a very bland dish indeed!

...and the DoD-Federation is a great place to get advice/answers (in addition to the official forums here) AND a lot of the same folks (war criminals) hang out there -- check it out!

:) Yep, just noticed this thread and wanted to add my thanks and appreciation to all our mappers. Without you guys we would miss out on such a wealth of brilliant maps to keep us all learning and developing.

We have a custom map realism server in Oz and our community is loving the quality of maps that you guys put out.

Our hats are off to all of you. Cheers to the mappers!

So as not to open another thread in a similar vein (and i dont think its bad to rezz this thread praising all our mappers!) I wanted to just thank all the guys who have made the maps im running on our custom map server. Thank you, each one of you.

Also, I have tried to credit each mapper correctly, please let me know if i have got any wrong or if you know who created a map that i have a ?? beside for its maker.

As always, without you guys, DoDS would be stagnant and less interesting, cheers.

I downloaded hammer 3 days ago and I spent hours on this forum and on other forums and communities to start to understand something!

I add my thanks to all the mappers for their excellent work, for their tips and helps!

I add my thanks to all the mappers for their excellent work, for their tips and helps! It's definitely not an easy task, especially those who go above and beyond your standard stuff....I had someone who knew how to map in our community teach me a few things, and I downloaded a 700mb video tut, that's how I learned, and I'm still a total complete rookie at it.
