Looks like it's straight off the productiion line with a healthy coat of varnish!

Not my taste, but i'm sure some people will love it.

It looks pretty good, but like I say for most phonged v models, its to much. If it was cut in half it would fit my tastes better. Nj.

Hm wasnt really expecting these replies.

The thing is that although it looks shiny on the screens, it doesn't quite in game cause as you can see on these screens I was looking into the sun and then you'll get quite a reflection but when you play the chance of you doing that is very small, and for the ones who TRIED IT, know that it doesn't reflect that much as you might think.

Also, I have seen worse phong models ;)
And phong is in it's early stages well at least for these purposes, and still needs a lot of tweaking, but at least I tried, and I got the experience of working with phong.

But I'd like to know who actually played with this ingame instead of just saying you don't like it while you didn't even tested it ;)

Sorry to say but I really hate it when people judge it from the screens, it's alway different ingame, and there isn't that much to see when you dont come neer much light, so there screens were actually meant to show the "extreme".

But I will tweak this one a bit more, but phong doesn't really do what it suppose to do unfortunately.

I hope some more phong options/features are added, so it can be tweaked more.

been playing with it ingame for about a minute right after i downloaded it, just to see how it looks. All i can say is that the phong effect isn't that noticable ingame as you play, as you say yourself. What i did notice is that in the shadows the skins looked a bit bland.
But that is what i noticed in those few seconds.

I'm now tweaking him a bit.
I am trying to make a skin witout any reflections "painted" on the texture itself, and trying to see it realtime ingame with phong.
As you will know the shinyparts which are painted on the weapon are static and in theory it's not quite realistic ;)

So I am messing around with that with phong and the texture itself by removing the shinyparts.

I will give you some updates on my new phong version soon!

Well man, if you're disappointed that your skin is being misjudged by the screenshots then perhaps you should include screens in different environments and light sources, other than just having all of them staring into the sun. The whole point of having screenshots is to act as a preview, so that people can see what it's gonna look like before they download it. Most of the comments are "it's good but not my preference," anyways, so what's wrong with that?

I look forward to seeing your improved versions.

Is it possible to just put phong on the metal? I'd be curious as to what that would look like. Nice work either way.

Hey guess what that's what I did ;)
I gave it a sort of mask which sets where the phong should be but unfortunately that doesn't work "propperly".
It always shows phong allover the skin, even if you set some parts to zero phong visibility.

Here are some examples of when phong "mask" is off.
And it is quite hard to get the right mask AND the settings, to not have it shine to much.

Now I got the hang of phong more I am now working on a slightly tweaked default skin and give it some bumpmaps and making sure the metal parts shine only.

I'll have some WIP images ready very soon.
