custom sounds with ambient_generic works now

For the record, you CAN embed custom wave files (using ambient_generic) into your map and get them to play. You no longer need to use env_soundscape to play custom sounds. I dont know if this was a result of the update, or of me moving to pakrat 0.95, but it works now. So hurray!

Previously, if you included a custom sound into your map, and played the sound using an ambient_generic, you couldnt succesfully embed the sound into the bspzip and have it play. Now it's fixed. Someone might want to verify that it also works with Map Analyst.

Glad to hear this is fixed. I reported this issue to Valves bug list a long time ago.

I'm still having trouble with packrat and custom icons...you add them and do the auto update and it finds them as "missing" and adds them...you try it again and it finds them "missing" and adds them again...and so forth.

FD, did you try Map Analyst as well? I doubt this will fix it though.

I suspect it's some kind of new bug with the latest build. Reason I say this is because wickit is reporting problems with custom obj icons crashing the game...

It should probably be reported to the Valve official bug page. I've lost the link to it sorry.

I was having problems packing my map with packrat a while back. there was one model texture that it would pack, but say it wasnt there, then try again and it kept adding it (filesize went up!) over and over, but then black and pink when i ran the map!

switched to map analyst, and bam. If anybody's having a problem, try another program.

I'm having trouble figuring out Map Analyst. It's not as intuitive as pakrat. It doesnt help that the limited readme is written in hieroglyphics...
