Okay... I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, but after I restart Steam after finishing downloading the update and go into Hammer it will load my HL2 map, but there is NOTHING in the 3D view, and it runs slow as hell. I'm not doing anything different than how I usually start up the SDK. And just to be sure I verified my caches to DoD:S, HL2, and HL2:EP1.

The new sdk has the objective and team wall code in it. If you have trouble opening the sdk there's a small bug i found...if you have a source mod that does not have a gameinfo.txt it will not open...i deleted my mod (shantytown) and it worked fine after that (already reported to valve).

Same thing was happening to me. Seems like it forgot that no one really uses the "Create Camera" tool thing. Just click create camera and create a random one and it'll pop back up into view.

Studiocompiler is still messed up. :(

edit: I found a fixed version but have'nt tried to compile with it. Atleast this one will start without me having to edit files and what not.

Dragging and dropping a .qc file onto a shortcut to studiomdl.exe appears to work fine now, without having to copy files and such. Anyone notice the new "<model name>.xbox.vtx" file which is addition to the 6 normal model files made when compiling a model. Wonder if this custom stuff will be able to be used on the xbox versions.

So do we need to distribute the "<model name>.xbox.vtx" files with our custom models?

I like the new model viewer thing when placing them on maps.

I can no longer run my map from hammer. I have to start DoD:S manually and load my map instead of just F9'ing it. :(

SOOOO tedious.

SOOOO tedious.

Unless something changed from gldsrc to Source engine you should never do that anyway.
