Source SDK Base

Hello all! Did anyone else notice this little goody now in the SDK? In Steam go to your Tools menu and install the Source SDK Base and now we have an HDR stress test to upload results to VALVe with :) Very nice!

Nothing new, this same stress test was in Lost Coast. Thing is, HDR isn't even working in it :rolleyes:

anyone else get these errors in the vid test?
I was suprised to see the hanging lights laying on the floor........

It's not meant to be a complete "game" or anything. Current belief is that it's a new Steam App ID for use by third party mods so that they can use the latest Source engine without being dependant on other games like HL2DM or EP1 installed.

Yeah that's correct. Actually it's pretty clever idea, they can update that base engine easily with the new tech so mod makers can take advantage of it.

More info about this coming this week when the update is released officially.
