It's been a tough re-learning from 3.1 to Source, but, ...here's the first effort. The map consists of about 90% displacement surfaces.

It's a large cavern / cave complex being "enhanced" by Axis team.
4 flags to cap.
It's a big file, ...but not as big as others I've dl'd and played myself.
Available here: http://cr1sp.com/vie/dod_underhill.rar
The *.rar is just over 22mb

Constructive feedback is welcome.
Thanks for any interest.

I concur.

Had a sneak preview the other night and it was lots of fun to play.

I just have two issues as of now...

Add 1 or 2 extra spawns per side, always good to have a couple extra above 16.

If you shoot the gas cans by the generator the fire sound will stay after they are gone...very very very very annoying...nothing I hate more then the sound of frying bacon by my generators in the morning.

95 mb!!! I don't think anyone would stick around to download this, even with sv_download url up and running. Shame cause this looks like a great map.

Is it ok to include your map in the next dodirectory map pack??

Yes, absolutely.
If you believe the interest is there, please add it.

It's set inside a large cave/cavern system so it's displacement heavy.
(about 90% of playable area)
The *.rar is about 22 mb.

Thanks for your support.

If this isn't your final release I recommend you naming the map with some sort of _b1 or _v1 to help clarify versions and make server admins happy when trying to manage versions of releases, too...

And DAMN that's HUGE...like dracula...

Why don't you bzip your files. The map is only 30 mb in bzip.

"Pakrat" and "Map Analyst" are both significantly easier to use.
I also tried WinBSPZip,..... but it simply doesn't work.
Download the map anyway, ...it's worth a look.

Maybe worth compiling without hdr, if its mostly indoors hdr would give little benefit but it does just make your bsp bigger

included in map pack #43 (you should get your full download bandwidth - well up to 100meg ;) )

I like the map, BUT

I couldn't help but feel "where the WW2 tie-in?" At first glance I was sure this was gonna be a map of one of those secret Nazi science labs OR a Nazi stash of gold and riches hidden in mines or caves (both of which did exist BTW) which, IMHO, would be awesome. The current theme of it leaves something to be desired. Yes I know it's WIP that's why I mention this :)

As for the gameplay, seemed pretty well balanced so far. I liked it a lot.

Thanks for the suggestion Wile E.
Either the lab, or the horde of riches would be good a theme to follow up on.
It started out as an experiment to see what I could do with displacements, the only theme that developed was that I hadn't seen a map that was completely enclosed, and I thought, ..why not?
I'm working on some things for version2, and the layout for the next map is also in process.
