Add these lines to your config file, located in

"C:\Steam\Steamapps\"youremail@com"\day of defeat source\dod\cfg"

cl_enabledeatheffects "0"
cl_enabledeathfilmgrain "0"
cl_enablespectatoreffects "0"

That should get rid of it. If you have problems with the settings sticking, try setting your config to read-only.

Oh, right, I fell so stupid.:( LoL, why? Because youdidn't spot a brand new option? How would you have known it was there? heck, in the classs selection menu, i didn't even spot the new checkbox not to suicide until PIU said something. :)

they've been advertising it for ages now, you should have known to tinker with the options before playing.

Just an FYI... the DoD community doesnt take kindly to remarks that aren't constructive or helpful. Your post served no real purpose.

And the fact that the reset back to autokills going to one wasn't documented, and not even knows the console commands for them. They were never under options either before as stated, so it's perfectly normal that it was missed, as I too missed it, but instead used the console variables to set them.

Either way, behave now, no need for hostilties.

Or you could just uncheck the box called "suicide after class" in the class selection menu.

What I want to know is, is it possible to have the film grain effect on constantly even when alive?

It gets deleted unless you lock your config file so i just added those perams to my shortcut

For example +cl_enablespectatoreffects 0

This way you can still edit your options and have themmsave and keep filmgrain disabled
