dod_carentan_bob is now a demolition/flag cap mix

axis must defend for 15 mins whilst the allies either:
cap all 3 flags on the map whilst avoiding incoming morter rounds.
or
cap flag 1 and 2 to secure the town, and then all allied players will receive a message telling them to plant the bomb or capture the middle flag.

this allows the players to decide how they win, cap all flags and risk standing at the middle point capping for 10 seconds with 2 men....or just cap 2 flags, plant the bomb and protect it....or 2 men try to cap the middle and at the same time plant the bomb.....if they die the axis then have stopped the cap but must still disarm the bomb...
if the allies do cap the middle then the bomb will auto disarm.

1 issue i keep having is that the level is way to dark.
i put about 4 env light items around the top of the level and sert them to just white light.
is there any way to increase the light level to make it brighter, as i run my game on full brightness anyway it doesnt affect my gaming, but others say its too dark for them.

The map looks pretty good, nice and open, perfect for rifles :)

you should only need 1 light_environment, and 1 shadow_control to light the level

try 400 brightness, and around 200 ambient brightness. then use the shadow control to control the darkness of the shadows.

i agree with drag, the map looks great but it just to clean to be set up in a WWII area.

I have to agree, it looks really good in terms of structure and space. It just needs some more debris, building damage, and other touches that will make it more immersive. All around, great work, I look forward to playing it.

I find this mortar thing really interesting by the way. How do those mortars work? Are the Axis controlling them (like in 1.3)? If so, can they be destroyed? If not, do they explode in a random pattern, are they triggered by anything?

once the player captures flag number 2, it starts a logic timer to set off a env_explosion and a shooter attached to a train....so this train moves around the track and fires the explosions every 7 to 20 seconds. so its not player controlled and its totally random, so axis can die from them if they more past the center of the town.

this morter cover will help the axis once the allies have broken their lines and advanced far enough to take flag 2....as the axis cant take flag 2 the level then becomes more based around the center flag as thats the only place left to take over....so as long as the axis stay in the buildings firing on the allies from their defended positions, they will be fine but the allies will go boom.
there are also 3 morters set as triggers.
the trigger links to a filter only triggerable by allies.
so allied soldier touches trigger and boom he dies, where as axis survive..

many times i have ran away from a allied guy and he has run after me and blown himself up...very sattifying.

i need a large group of players to tell me how the fps runs on this map with say 20 plus players ...if its a dead dog ill redesign...if it works well i will add some more debris in like suggested.the map is on fps banana incase any clans want to do a mass test. then pm me with the results
