Do you mean you want to change those images in the hud?

There are quite a few... and they are doubled up as well :)

Have a look. (http://www.dodbits.com/dodbitsdownloads/dod_materials_vgui.JPG)

OFftopic, insane you know when you kill someone and your name is highlighted in yellow in the top right. Where is the highlighting colour, i'm using your hud and the name doesn't highlight. I just need to tweak the highlight colour a tad! Thanks budddy!

Depending on which one of his HUD's you use, when you kill someone, someone kills you or you capture something...it has a greyish-blackish box. I use version 5 and this is from his MoH HUD:

There are two places you can edit it.

I have redone all my pages now. The starting point for all (http://dodbits.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=category&sectionid=7&id=18&Itemid=37) pages.

The Kills, Deaths and Caps (http://dodbits.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=28&Itemid=37&limit=1&limitstart=4) page is what you need.

Try the "2nd method...Adjusting the background to different colours." on that page.

I don't have them as a download, if that's what you mean :) You can get them by extracting them from the GCF file using GCFScape. (http://nemesis.thewavelength.net/index.php?c=75#p75) They are in the dod\materials\vgui folder.

Does that help?

Since this is also related: is it possible to change or edit the image of the weapon? I don't mean the clips counter, I mean the actual weapon image that tells you what type of gun you have?

You'd have to change them all, not just one.

It can't be a font. They are bitmaps rather than vector images.

You can change it. Wile did it with his smoke grenade.

In the .gcf you'll want these.
dod_weapons01.vtf
dod_weapons01_glow.vtf

You may also want to check out these as well depending on what you're trying to do.
clips_bullets.vtf
death_icons.vtf

It's clear what "dod_weapons01.vtf" does... but the other one "glow" in the file name.

Has anyone got info on what dod_weapons01_glow.vtf and it's VMT file ...actually do?

Oh forgot to add, if you are thinking about changing the actual shape of the weapon... you will have a lot more work than just one extracted VTF image color layer.

There is the alpha channel in dod_weapons01.vtf to adjust as well as the "layer" image and it's alpha channel in dod_weapons01_glow.vtf .

If you know Photoshop well enough, it's quite easy to change the weapon entirely in any hud as it can be seen when I change my knife to a punch...
http://img266.imageshack.us/img266/7517/screenshot33ta.jpg

The fist is clearly a dramatic change from a knife. Anyways...my point is that the hud is done with vtfs and alpha channels to determine the shape and picture. This is how I was able to have a fist for the knife or change the character model in the health hud featured in my original 101st airborne pack...
http://img141.imageshack.us/img141/9427/ss5oz.jpg

About the "dod_weapons01_glow.vtf." I believe it is used for weapon selection (when quick switch is turned off). Not sure exactly. But all I know is that the alpha channel on "dod_weapons01.vtf" has to match the alpha channel on "dod_weapons01_glow.vtf" in order for everything to work right.

Again, if you know PS well enough, changing these aspects of the game is relitively simple, yet time consuming.

I had a play around with the "dod_weapons01_glow.vtf.".

Could not see any difference when I screwed around with the alpha channel or the rgb layer :)

Tried weapons select, all other places, not that it matters, just wanted to know what it's function was :)

No...it's a mac screenshot.

jk

Maybe the "glow.vtf" isn't used, and is extra file left in the gcf.

It isn't a Mac. He's probably using Stardock software.

It's not a mac. I just skinned windows like a mac, because I'm used to the look and feel of macs. This should clarify things...
