I hate wood

LOL I give up on trying to skin ANYTHING with wood!

I may be good at skinning SOME things, but wood just ain't one of them. Oh sure I can get something looking sorta decent, but my little secret is that for my personal skins (that no one else sees) I keep ripping off eSkwaad and [SLHR]Gen. Those two are the best at wooden stocks. I just can't come close to matching them.

This useless post comes after wasting HOURS of trying to get a springfield stock to look right, just to to end up trashing the whole PSD.

I've been thinking...
What if you, eSkwaad and [SLHR]Gen specialized at what you guys do best and work on a collaborative project?

That would be cool.

More collaboration, thats whats needed here to give the MSA community a wee bit of a boost!!!.

PM me if I can be of any help with regards to "Stickies" or anything, where we can get skinners and modellers "hooked up" to discuss any projects you fellas might come up with.

If anybody was confused, I'm [SLHR]Gen.

I'm completely the other way around, I find making a nice wood texture a hell of a lot easier than getting anything metal looking good (as Brutal knows well from my constant nagging for tips), let's collaberate :p

Wile E, register at www.sourceblog.org and find a tutorial by Brutal. This will help you a bunch, and if you need crits on the skin post a wip on the sourceblog forums and some of the members can help :)
