We can't really say anything. is that a displacement? a brush? is it clipped or is it carved or is it manipulated? More details...

There's your problem :o

Try changing your env_cubemaps. Remember, faces that use cubemaps (such as displacements, since their shadowing is mostly dynamic) will use the closest cubemap they can find (if not assigned).

Did you try running a full vis? You could also try using hint brushes. Since displacements are lighted with dynamic lightning (as far as I know), they light themselves considering the vis portals you're in.

You're using model/prop texture in world brush. That's why it looks like that.

will try a full vis later to see if that works

No they aint there all brush textures.

I know I did expeirence such thing with model/prop texture, maybe if you would post the actual texture name you are using, it would clear that point out. I have not had any problem using normal texture on displacement.

Try putting a cubemap right above the overlays. I have had some weird issues with overlays and physics props when theres not a cubemap close by.
