Adding Sounds to PakRat?

Looks like PakRat is pretty complete adding in textures/materials and confirming their inclusion in the BSP file. But what about sound files? I know I have to add any custom sounds I've created, but what about HL2 sounds? Do they need to be added manually? Does the DoD retail version include HL2 sounds? Any other pitfalls with PakRat?

Cheers

Im not sure if dods retail comes with all hl2 models/textures or not. I guess it does or else half the custom maps out there wouldnt work properly on retail.

a small note..

Custom sounds do NOT work when embedded into the map .bsp file (with pakrat, bspzip, etc), unless they are being used in an env_soundscape.

eg. If you are using custom sounds in an ambient_generic entity, they will not work.

This bug has been reported to Valve. So we'll just have to wait for a fix

You could add a cow "mooing" sound into an env_soundscape and have it work. Just set it up to be "playrandom" with a small radius.
