I am working on a map freely inspired of the ep 2 of band of brothers , an attack on a German battery of artillery, beta test took place yesterday evening.

I must still modify the ways to balance the gameplay and to optimize it!!

I'm interested in the cows you have there. Care to tell us where they come from?

besides that, it's really blocky (trenches) and some things like the stairs leading out of the artillery location just appear out of place.

Some texturing to be redone too, on the ground mostly where one can see the seams of brushes joining.

this will help for an overview of what it looked like.

that roof texture shouldnt be slanted, for the trenches use the models that were released by waldo.

The stair banister on the busted building is a very nice detail :)

I love photos where odd things survive amidst great destruction.

*Off topic but a great example is the statue of St. Benedict in the midst of the destroyed Cloister of Bramante (http://www.officine.it/montecassino/disegni/foto_htm/bened.htm) (Abbey of Monte Cassino). Everything around it, including the statue of Benedict's sister, Scholastica, was obliterated.

Looking forward to playing this!

What texture did you use for the netting camoflage thing? I tried to find something for that but couldn't find anything suitable?

Thanks for you comments and ideas

I really have to work on my texturing, my displacements, and so many things... But I will survive :)

It is a bit early to credit everyone but:

Thanx to KominaaA for this great camo texture, for his patience and all the advices !

Thanx to Mister Pedroleum for his great dead cows

To be continued...

Really great looking map, Fr3t! Totally awesome!

I like where in screenshot one, you have that 8.8 Fixed inside a house! Schweet!

The second screenshot, although your work, reminds me of the trench systems that were run in dod_forest. Too completely different maps, entirely different, but rest assured, I'm a man of the trench.

I like the network you've setup, and the detail in it is already looking well. I can't really give you any advice on mapping, as my Comps dead, and less just dodge the silly for a moment, I'am in noway in any position to make a suggestion.

Right now, this just looks plain good! :D

Thanks Panzershrek, i am going to try to use waldo's trenches, it's a lot of work, and it's my first map, but if i want something interesting i have to make something realistic !

I have already red it Lt. Stephenson, thx, but i don't want to stick to the historical place, my idea is based on a close combat fight around artillery position.
