Here is the link. Ragdolls die like the Counter Strike ones.
Put in your steam/steamapps/email/dayofdefeatsource/dod folder.

Do they work with your custom models?

Pvt. Stephenson

they work with all models.

What I am asking is, do they overwrite your custom skins. Like say, Wile E Coyote's skins.

no

I would really love to try these out, would it be possible to get another mirror, as rapidshare hates my router with a passion:(

Thx in Advance.

A clarification for all those who are worried this will conflict with something:

These are only the physics (.phy) files. they are NOT replacing the models or the model skins in any way.

Thanks LT. I'm gonna try this out and see if I notice the difference :)

Cool, bodies don't fly back 5 feet when you shoot them.

After testing these out, the only thing I can say that's bad is that the deaths by explosions are still inconsistent. Shoot two stationary bots with a rocket, one after the other, in the same spot -- one might fly back 20 feet, and the other might fall where he stands. Same with grenades.

However, they're still better than the current ragdolls, and the fact that they don't react the same way to bullets is neat. Download em.

ya grenade explosions just make them fall over, which looks cool.

Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't.

okay, just got done with a quick match. I must say it does seem like an improvement. I will keep using these variables. Thanks once again

screenshots won't help; these are RAGDOLL PHYSICS. Unless it was a 50 frame animated GIF! LOL

Pretty nice stuff.

I know that you will be using these for GMod, Lt. Stephenson.

ya, that will work alot Kiefer.
Something really cool was one of my guys was hit by a sniper in the head, he just stopped, standing striaght up, then fell on his knees, then fell dead.

Thanks to Lt. Stephenson for sharing this...now DOD has a much more authentic feel to it. I love how ppl just pretty much fall dead instead of flying across the map

:)

now there is ONE thing that I don't like about these variables - they seem to eliminate guys rolling who were hit running or sprinting - the "rabbit hit on the run" effect. It was one of the things I truly enjoyed about DOD: Source when I first started playing. I'll have to experiment a little more :)

I shot a guy running away, he fell face first and kinda flipped.

Well this is a video of the default ragdolls, ok phys_pushscale is on 100 so they fly back even more so it's more exaggerated..

This is a video of the cs:s ragdolls in dod:s, they just drop.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=Bhhbu9XpNM0

Each video is a few megs each so it shouldn't take long, even on 56k it's quick.

(Where'd you get those sounds? The Garand sounds beastly.)

hobosphere

I made that garand sound, mixed it with some other sounds here and there. I don't want to brag but it is the best garand sound ever!!

I'll make a release in the sound forum for it..right now

Thats strange. When someone get killed by a head shot they doesn't fly like 20 feets away when im playing. And i havent downloaded any ragdoll fix.

He had messed with the default ragdolls pyhsics settings to get that effect...

Thanks for the mirror, I like these a lot.

how did you get bots like that?? and i love that sound!!

To get bots, go to the console and type "bot" and hit enter. It'll spawn a bot. They're really not that intelligent, though you can get them to run around and constantly fire their Garands if you change more bot cvars.

Also, you must have sv_cheats set to 1 to spawn bots.

thanks for the vid's. It made me downloading to try these new ragdolls.
A (perhaps noobish) question: the behaviour of ragdolls is clientside or serverside?

Client side good sir.

They look good. Is it just me, or does it look like its using more spray (CSS style spray blood) than before? If you could tone that back to DOD:S blood settings it would be perfect!
