I noticed that source has many realistic aspects in the guns department.

I was wondering if someone could convert source guns to 1.3 or if that is impossible then could they edit the 1.3 defaults to look like source?

I know this request may have been denied but i am new to the forums.

Greatly appreciated,

Pvt. Matthew A. Buster

I dont think that is allowed. Mainly because dod source is a pay game. And dod 1.3 is free.

Besides, i wouldnt want them converted. I want better stuff! :D

I myself am trying to force myself to work on some stuff. I made a garand en-bloc and ammunition already, im working on the garand itself atm >_>

But seeing the talent on this forum now. im surprised none of htem are making anything like custom skins for 1.3

Illegal. Expect this topic to be closed shortly.

Btw there is tons of custom stuff for 1.3:
DoDEC (http://dodec.hlgaming.com/)

Buster, just to clarify this for you.

Yes, it is possible to convert the weapons to 1.3 fairly easily although you'd need to decompile them, re-configure the QC file and convert all the textures.

However, it's something you'd have to do privately because posting the models publicly would be a breach of copyright.

well,

Trp. Jed i am very new to this modeling idea. If i were to get my hands on a tut and actually get GIMP to work for me then i would be doing that but since it is not i am out of luck...

well since this post has gone down the toilet i would like to ask someone to make this model garand for 1.3 if that is no trouble.

http://forgottenhope.bf1942files.com/images/weapons/M1%20Garand/big.jpg I think what you mean is you would like a reskin of the default garand with that type of texture.

And if you ment the model and texture, i wouldnt. That model is horrible imo. mainly because its "mirrored" both sides are teh same etc.. the bolt is missing, the safty is missing. bleh eew

I myself am working on things, one is a garand and teh ammo sprits. :D

Sadly,

I cant run source because of this pos comp i have. It's a shame that so many people went to modeling for source and 1.3 was left hangin....

What i think is even sadder is that for as long as dod 1.3 has ben out, and modded, i have never seen realistic skins made for the wepaons such as the mp40! they are all metal! :(

Buster, before you post any more requests, I want you to thoroughly read this thread.

I'd close this because of your repeated requests for copyrighted material, but I want to know you get the point. We don't play in the grey area on this forum regarding copyrights and this thread is most definitely toeing the line in the original sense and over the line in the latter.

Does anyone know the origins for the default gun models in dod:s??? instead of having the models themsleves i might as well use the origins and have my guns look like source. IF THAT ISNT ILLEGAL....

Guyver

Origions are just positions, so that's not illegal. :)

Then would it be cool if i could get the origins? If there is a way to tell on my own i would but i dont. Much appreciated.

Is it ok if i ask for a tutorial on converting those textures and on editing the QC-File?
If not then thats ok...

Origins aren't a standard thing. It's not like an RGB value, say, where you can just take the numbers and plug them in. Your best bet is to use Jed's HLMV, and jockey the view models into a position matching screenshots from Source. Then again, you've still got the differences between how HL and Source handle field of view for first person models.

As for tutorials, I think there's one floating around in here in a sticky somewhere, but Jed's HLMV cuts out having to mess around with the.qc for editing origins, IIRC.

My version works for Goldsrc/DoD 1.3 models only. Theres a link in the JHLMV readme to Marzy's tutorial which explains how to re-origin a model with it.

As Zao said theres no real comparison between origins in DoD:S and 1.3. Basically where the dev's put the model in its reference pose is where the origin is. All you can do is convert the model from DoD:S to 1.3 and then with JHLMV nudge it to where you want it.
