ok.. call me dumb... i forget how to make WATER!!! such a simple thing an i cant do it.. or having it set to no vis/rad compile will make water not work.. one or the other.

so i made my brush, applied the nature/anzio_water001 texture, compile, and theres nothing.. help :-(

edit1: ok, i had it as a func_detail, no <3<3<3<3 it wouldnt work :-P

anyway, i fixed that, and its invisible now on the outside, but from the inside all i see are the black/purple checkers

edit2: i tried a material that had a "_beneath" mat associated with it, but i still cant see it from the outside of the water :-(

Take a brush, and paint it nodraw but the one surface you want to be the water offen the top, and just fyi besure to place that water in a nodraw "tub".

I guess try a fast vvis/vrad compile and see if the water show up then if not then you got a problem, if so then I guess you do have to run those to see water. I only turn off those two when I want to test for leaks.

PS.: I've noticed with the anzio water that you don't get a underneth(sp?) texture just the error checker board, atlest that what a problem I had .

I've found there is problems with the anzio water sometimes. Try applying water_canals03 or something.

Don't apply the beneath texture (eg. water_canals03_beneath) or any other than the main one.

Make sure you compile at least with VIS. Running a fast compile is ok, it doesn't take long!

Have you built the cubemaps as well? Run "buildcubemaps" in console.
