Spawning Issue

I have searched around for the answer to this for around 2 days now, and haven't been able to find jack. I made part of a map and decided to try it out. I compiled it and the map loaded fine. In game, I hit the OK button to get rid of the MOTD. At that point I cant choose a class. It doesn't even have choices for teams. I can fly around with the GUI in my face, but, of course, I cant turn and I HAVE THE GUI IN MY FACE! If I hit a hotkey to choose teams then the game just crashes. I have info_player_observer, info_player_axis and info_player_allies. I looked around and noticed some people mentioning info_doddetect. I added that as well. I have looked through the compile logs relentlessly and there is no error reported. When I go to map/check for problems, it tells me there is no player start. I've seen people mention that they use an info_player_start entity, but that is absolutely nowhere in the entity list. I wondered if I just had a FGD problem, but I have been through 2 different 1.0 FGD's without any luck.

If I am missing an entity, then I would appreciate someone filling me in on what it is and where I could find it. If it is another problem, then the same goes as above.

Thanks,
Oz

the info_player_start entity is in your hl fgd. But I don't think that's the problem that causes your error

I belive Quakah is right, you don't need an info_player_start to get your DoD map working.

You have got info_player_allies and info_player_axis in you map?

EDIT: Sorry .. didn't read your post properly  looking at what you have said I don't belive you have a missing entity.

This still leaves me at a complete loss though. As far as I can tell, everything is correct. I just can't actually spawn. I left the entities default, as I read somewhere else. The fact that the problem check tells me I have no spawn is really baffling. I know I have both entities there and both are inside the map (it isn't like I stuck them out in the middle of nowhere). Being that this thread has been viewed 32 times and only has 2 replies makes me think that I've done things correctly and people don't have a suggestion as to why it won't work.

Instead of letting it go to the map, check the "Dont run game" when the compile has finished, run the map manuely... go in to dod and start ur map creating a LAN game...its worth a try

Dont give up on the map!!! just add the info_player_Start (type it in if u dont have it in ur fgd) and it should work fine! :)

I'm assuming Mythic_Kruger is offering some help.

If not then post a link to the rmf and we'll take a look.
