Check the Releases sub-forum on this section for dod_salerno. It's a map based on the railroad layout made by the author of the original maps. :)

And check for the other releases as well. :)

Dunno about the others tho.

dod_anvil is a remake of the 1.3 map dod_falaise, also made by the same author. Download it, it's very good.

The rest are original maps or conversions of other custom maps. I recommend dijon, panic, tiger, smallhill, sora, etc, etc, etc :p Download them all to be sure! :)

wasn't falaise the remake of the old beta 2.0 bridge?

No, that's dod_escape. Falaise was based on a custom map called dod_champagne (correct me if I'm wrong).

That's too bad, Falaise is a great map. And Anvil is even better.

i would love to see atleast those 3/4 make a solid return but in source Not only is Salerno a remake of railroad2, but there is a map out right now called dod_railroad3b2 that is a direct port of dod_railroad.

well since there has been a railroad remake kinda in the form of salerno ... i think that will be good enough ... insta is one hell of a mapper!!!

now i think harrington would be a favorite to make and make OFFICIAL :D

Thanks! I forget that everytime. The funny thing is that Bocage was the name of a famous poet here in Portugal. :p

Same here...hic

I read a post somewhere where sora was described as a saints remake, this isn't true but I can kinda see what the guy meant in a way.

If anything sora is a better map, more complex, more routes and being source looks better too.

I have been working on a port of dod_sturm but have hit a problem with optimising, also havent been able to work much on it recently but every time I read a tutorial on hints and areaportals it makes a bit more sense than the time before so hopefully I will be able to get the fps issues sorted.

Somebody was working on an unofficial port of chemille, but i don't know anything more than that. and last time i checked the maker of harrington had dissapeared off the face of the earth.
Personally, I don't think harrington would play well on the source engine. Especially the long side.

Who was dod_campagne's mapper? Still my favorite DoD map.

The creator of dod_harrington is currently playing for team Check-Six ... Jonathan "jfas" Fasulo ... and the long side would be interesting ... but still VERY playable and more intense now i would think ... and since its source ... i would expect a bit of change ...

really? i thought it was somebody else who made the map. eh my bad.

as for the long side, it just seems to me that the reduced accuracy would help the allies push up easier, but i may be wrong

Andy Elliston made dod_campagne.

As for Harrington, Jfas went by an older nickname: Holeman

Unless my memory is failing me, which is quite possible at this time.

that is correct ... jfas used to be called holeman
