Hammers barbed wire models

I see on most maps like beach landing ones where the Hammer barbed wire mdls are used that you can run right through them without damaging yourself. I've tried making them statics, multiplayers, dynamics, physics, overrides, etc. but can't seem to make them "solid"..anyone know which type/flags to set to fix this?
Btw, has anyone else noticed that most/all of the new Kalt drainpipes are see-through/non-solid as well??..lol..and this from the "experts" so maybe I shouldn't feel so inept after all.

you could try making it a regular static model then sticking a brush with the "player noclip" texture in/around the model to block the player.

yep thats it, a noclip for the wood parts, and a nodraw with trigger hurt on the barbed wire)
once done, group them so you can use copy paste :)

The barbed wire doesn't have a vphysics model (that's the invisible model that stops you from passing through it). I would also caution you from adding anything outside of spawn protection that can hurt a player. Hurts like that are fine in a single-player environment but putting items in your map that hurt players doesn't go over very well with a vast majority of players. You'd be better served (IMO) to just use a player clip to keep players from running through them.

Thanks FuzzDad and all the rest for your posts. I've used the player clip/prop_static only and am very satisfied with the results.

It sounds like the no draw/trigger hurt might be a good way to keep players out of the other teams spawn :-) !
