I have a few project maps I am working on but the other day my Steam packed up and I had to reinstall it, being stupid like I am I forgot to copy all the vmf files before reinstalling, so now I only have the BSP files left from copied steam files, when I decompiled them to a vmf. file and tried to run the map through Hammer it comes back with an error that it cannot find the specified file relating to the map name, how do I get around this ??? any ideas, thanks..

Make sure you copy that vmf into your sourcesdk_content/dod folder, and open it from there.

So into the \sourcesdk_content\dod\mapsrc file, because it is already in there, I just checked ??

Here is exactly what it says, with my account details removed obviously !!

Loading d:\program files\steam\steamapps\email address\sourcesdk_content\dod\mapsrc\dod_station_b 4.bsp
Error opening d:\program files\steam\steamapps\email address\sourcesdk_content\dod\mapsrc\dod_station_b 4.bsp

** Executing...
** Command: Copy File
** Parameters: "D:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\email address\sourcesdk_content\dod\mapsrc\dod_station_b 4.bsp" "d:\program files\steam\steamapps\email address\day of defeat source\dod\maps\dod_station_b4.bsp"

The command failed. Windows reported the error:
"The system cannot find the file specified."

What confuses me is its looking for the BSP file and as I am just compiling it a BSP would'nt be in there would it, or am I reading it wrong

make sure your bsp file is present in your day of defeat source/dod/maps folder. It's that one that's screwing your hammer as it can't seem to find it.
