Every so often, a replacement model comes along like a tour de force, and when you put it in your DoD folder it seems to somehow give you an edge (psychologically, if not spiritually).

That is what I experienced back in the 3.1 days with the Silenced Greasegun (http://www.dayofdefeat.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=4170). I used it as a replacement to the M1 carbine, and I made a mess of the Germans at Donner.

I have a zip file of the original if you're interested in helping to breathe new life into the model. Just tell me where to email it.

Just so I understand, DODS does not allow custom models like CSS does?

If that's the case, how do the custom player packs work?

If that's the case, how do the custom player packs work? Yes, you can have custom gun models in DoD:S, just not custom player models ...only re-skins.

Look at these:

Those are all custom models, not defaults.
