DOD-S Crashing on startup after update?

Just a heads up, after the recend DOD-S update my DOD-S wouldnt run, from other forums and talking to other people it would seem the -beta sdk command is causing this error,

IF you remove the beta sdk command it will probably fix it but all of your HL games and sdk will update and you will be unable to map DOD-S.

Or you can wait for a fix, im pretty sure they are aware of the problem and an update to the beta sdk will probably be coming soon.

hi
you can map, you just need to reboot steam with the -beta sdk in the shortcut.
then when you want to play dod:s exit steam delete the -beta sdk and re-boot steam.

i've stopped all my games auto updating too to save waiting for them to update every time you start steam. :)

I've compiled 3 times so far, and restarted steam and updated all over again everytime. :p

All I did to stop the constant updating was turn the 'start steam when windows starts' or something setting off, then run it myself from a desktop icon with -beta sdk. No more updating.

Wish they would just give us the SDK full on, no beta.....

I can't get the beta sdk to work now, I updated, ran my compiled map, now it won't let me apply 'steam.exe -beta sdk'.

What am I doing wrong !!!

"C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\Steam.exe" -beta sdk

should be like that /\

if you do it like this

"C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\Steam.exe -beta sdk"

It WONT work (look at the speech marks)

Oops, I was supposed to have this line,

"C:\Program Files\Steam\Steam.exe" -beta sdk

had quotes after the -beta sdk.

Works now :D DUH

if youve noticed not everyone get the error. their computers may have all worked when they tested it. dont ***** at valve for not having a million computers to test a game to see if "some" got errors

It's been fixed. A small update was released for the SDK.

Or you could try removing the -beta sdk, restart Steam, let it download the stuff, put back -beta SDK. That seemed to have solved my problem.

Yay!

Was afraid they wouldn't fix it until after new years.

Merry X-mas!
