Well, there's another black metal thompson on your way dod fans but as always I want to make it unique. Since this has been done before ( and i REALLY didn't realize that steamboatwilly had already done an excellent re-skin of this same model) I am thinking of making it just an entire pack. P, V, etc.

The one most important thing I want is a new reload animation. You see, the dod team over looked the fact that you need to **** your gun to make it fire, I wanted to make a unique reload of some sort. Perhaps inserting the clip and doing some quick/flashy thing to **** the gun before its finally ready to fire.

-- After this original post i was beaten down with the knowledge that cocking the gun was unnecessary, and for that reason it was left out. It doesn't matter, i still think cocking the gun looks better -

Anywho, if you can animate, e-mail me! MobileOrgans@yahoo.com I promise not to waste your time.

The dev team's animations on the Thompson are correct, you do not have to work the action in order to chamber a new round into a Thompson SMG. If you did this, you would eject the first round leaving you with only 29 instead of 30.

Really? I was unaware of that. I'll edit the post.

For the dod team:

I will **** my gun often. If i do not **** my gun, i am not a whole person.

you work the action before putting a clip in, thus opening the magazine housing.

we can end the debate here. Being at a college library, i have found a book on the wonderful world of weaponry. Cocking the weapon is unnecessary.

I would still like to find someone who can help me out with the animations. I don't care if you're just learning. - Progress shots coming soon.

Since you don't care if the animator is learning, why don't you have a go?

In real life, I wouldnt hesitate proppeling a shell and resting with 29 fully auto assured rounds in my mag :) If only DOD could introduce weapon jams... :(

thompson anims are correct in 1.0, nuff said. lets not make another debate.

bah how many times have this been said? an empty thompson with its bolt front must be pulled back and lock it. And you CANT chamber a round in M1 thompson, its a open bolt blowback weapon.......Pls stop saying the thompson doesnt need to be c0cked. Any weapon, when fired empty, needs its bolt to be manipulated in some way, theres no such gun which is loaded by only inserting the magazine.

Take a GOOD LOOK at this blowback operation on M1 Thompson, say you fire the last round and your finger is still pressing the trigger (no one is fast enough to depress the trigger after the last round), take a guess, where would the bolt be, would you need to c0ck it?

*PS
if you have any weapon operation doubts and stuff, post in the military history forums, under weapons sub forum. You'll get lotsa replies.

USP = universal self loading pistol, slap the mag in and your good to go

dont most SMG's have an odd # of bullets in them??
so if you **** the gun youd be left with 30 if the mag had 31

And i have all ready made a black thompson and it isnt hard ot make p, and w models. All u have to do is import the Black tommy BMp into the P and W ones and save them.
