Decals on models

I have this bridge where a hole has been blown in it. The hole is made by clipping the bridge floor and inserted som models of a destroyed wood floor. It looks sort of what I have intented, but... the black decals around the hole is only marked at the bridge floor (the brushes), not the models.

Here is an exampel:

If it is fundamental that I cant put decals on models, then what now?

Is it possible to put decals on an illusinary brush and then cover the models?

Or is it posible to just make the models look darker?

If I try to make it with world brushes and clip it randomly, it would never look as nice as the model. But maybe this is the "right" way?

Or should I try to create my own model? (As a newbi this one is tuff)

- What should I do?

Sorry for my poor gramma, i'm from Denmark.

Using the Half life model viewer you can edit the model textures. Or at least you used to be able to.
I think you may have to live with func_details.. that looks pretty good, though a little flimsy looking for a rail bridge ;)

Well, you are right.

After thinking about it, thoose models look a bit skinny for a rail bridge. I would properly make the floor as big wooden beams. And they shouldnt be hard to make with some square clipping.

Thanks :-D
