tbh i dont see the point of the dark maps, most old timers just crank the gamma so that they dont get any dark spots anyway

HDR solves that problem ;) (Too bad most people can't run it)

Personal I'm making a night map, It's going to be reasonably dark, but am using a dark blue for light_env so it gives the impression of darkness while still being able to see.

Oh and does anyone know how to make custom HDR skyboxes? I need a night one.:)

try this (http://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/HDR_Skybox_Creation)

dod_narbeth started as a gloomy raining map, but it's gradually got lighter with each new beta version. the hdr version is even lighter.
i've started work on a dark, night, snow, forest map. it's not too dark though with a nice full moon.

I like more moody maps, not to dark, not to bright, just perfect, they need to have that fog o war feeling

All of the new dod maps are just like MOHAA maps, really bright, i hope they make koln or somehting to counteract this super clean look
