Yah, there were straight mag Brens. Be nice to see a sprite replacement for the clips to.

if you want I can make a straight-mag ammo sprite

The only thing close to a straight mag Bren that ever existed was the Czech verson, which wasn't a Bren, but actually predated it and was the basis for the Bren itself.

A drum mag bren would kick so much ass lol

Czech made ZB-26 and ZB-30s were basically Brens with straight mags. There were differences, both cosmetic and in the actual operation of the gun, but not big ones.

Cept that the ZB's came first, so it's more like the Bren was practically a ZB. :p

I don't know. It stands so tall and boxy. I just don't like the looks of it... Anyway, thats just me. The job itself is good.

I never said it was a french, I jus asked if its was the French MG GeraldDuval was talking about.

*Says something remotely french sounding in a Peter Sellars style way*

Straight mags aren't particularly practical anyway, especially on the Bren.
The Mark 4 had a fairly straight mag when then converted it to 7.62 Nato ammo but the curve of the mag with .303 ammo helped with feeding as it reduced the amount of "wobble" in the rounds coming from the clip.

Of all the SMG's and MG's I've fired I've had less stoppages with curved mags than straight magazines *FACT*
