[REL 1.3] dod_sampol_v5

An update to my old 1.3 map dod_sampol.

I've incresed the detail of the textures and resized all the buildings to try and make it easy to convert to DoD:S. The underground capture point now takes 10 seconds to capture, this is an attempt to try and slow the map down a little bit. I've also adjusted and cliped the two big craters in the middle of the map, you shouldn't have problems getting out of them now.

r_speeds are about the same apart from when standing on the roofs, w_poly goes above 1000 there. I doubt it will be a real problem though.

I'm still happy to try and support 1.3 like this as I still play the game myself :)

I always loved playing this map - on a small server. Played it on a 32 once and it was just nuts. Fun but crazy carnage. Can't wait to see the source version (Soon?). Thanks Haircut.

Sweet, thanks haircut :) This map is one of my all-time favourites.

Admittedly, I initally thought that this was a release for Source. I mean, I know it says "1.3" in the title and the description, but my heart just leaped when I went to the "Releases" section and spotted the word "Sampol". LOL... well that's my fault.

Good idea to scale all the textures to .25 so it's a quick convert to Source. I thought they looked a bit funny in the pics :P

Because of the 1/4 scale, should we expect to see a straight port to Source coming soon?

Textures are x1 for DoD, it's the size of the buildings that really changed.

128 units for a single story building ... and stuff.

The convertion to Source means x0.25 scale material. This means textures convert to material easily, On a single story building.

The textures on pervious versions were at summit like x2 on most faces tinfoil

NOTE Models for door frames (DoD:S) look like the walls need to be 16 units thick :D. One or two window frames seem to suit 32 unit wide walls but most are set up for 16 unit wide walls. I believe this sort of information requires a thread by more experianced DoD:S mappers?

ABsolutely love Sampol. People cant seem to cope with my bar rushing underground. Got 132-22 on a 30 min map of sampol the other day. Havent got source yet but I do hope that by the time I get it this map will be there.
