Another Axis Skin

Many of you may have seen a few of my Axis skins and I've been playing around and around with them for a while and finally I think I've found one I really like. I'll let the pic talk but you guys lemme know if you want me to release this.
MOST RECENT PICTURE HERE:

nice boots. :)

Collar patches need to be on the tunic. Eagle is supposed to be above the right pocket; on the tunic, of course. The EK.2 ribbon sticks away from the button, make it so it is "under" the button, going into the tunic. Maybe you could add the white waffenfarbe on the collar patch too?

There is also an eagle above the right pocket currently - can't see it from the screens - & yes, yes I know the sleeve eagles were only on the SS, but I like 'em - LOL. EK.2 ribbon is under the button. I'll fix the collar patches.
Thanx for noticing the boots. I figured how those shiny black boots that I always see on Nazis in movies and stuff should be put into the game instead of those brown looking ones. I put some good time into making them look good. LOL you should have seen the first attempt, they looked like space boots lol.
So I'm getting the vibe that I should post this as a release when I fix the patches etc.?

And the ribbon... It is sticking out too much, make it start at the button then into the tunic.

No the EK.2 ribbon is fine. Take a look at this propaganda picture from the time period. Look at him, his EK.2 ribbon is sticking out more than the one in my skin.
10-29-2005, 09:09 PM
Why not base it off real pictures?
Like that. They never wore it the way shown in that propaganda picture. Say, why don't you put rank on him?

Updated the skin. Now how do you like it? Would it look right to put the rank underneath the eagles on the sleeves? Or should I just leave the eagles there?
Anyway, the images:

Good job on the ribbon. The collar patch look weird, reddish... And if you want to add rank in, you will need to take off the sleeve eagles, but I don't think you want to do that. The shoulder board is for an Oberst, btw... Just do a Shutze; no sleeve insignia, just change the shoulder board to black and do the white outline for infantry waffenfarbe. http://users.skynet.be/vonweyersberg/Rankinsignia_Heer.htm
First under mannshaften.

Alright I'll fix up the collar patches...the picture I used for it had some red in it i believe....pretty sure i used this: http://www.axishistory.com/fileadmin/user_upload/c/collar-heer-officer-mountain.jpg
I also just made the eyes more blue.

Make sure you use a picture with white waffenfarbe. This is the infantry, after all. Same with the shoulder board, waffenfarbe outlines it. It would be cool if the patches were on the lower part of the collar.

Alright I'm pretty much done. I'll release tomorrow cuz im super tired. Some pix to end the night though:

All right, I'll end the night with more suggestions (sorry ><). Try using these:
The shoulder board is a late war variant, since DoD is in '44.
Gott Mit Uns buckle; looks like you have the WW1 buckle on there. Also the collar patches are a little misplaced, it looks like its going into the tunic. Again, your choice about the sleeve eagles... You are doing a great job, by the way.
10-30-2005, 08:11 AM
Yea I know the collar patches look like their going into the tunic. It's actually very hard to make it look like their not. I can't seem to find a happy place for them except when i put them high on the colloar, then they looked decent. Anyway the eagles I want to keep but I'll tell ya what. I'll make two versions, one without the eagles (having the rank on it) and one with the eagles - cuz I like the eagles, even if its not historically acurate. :)
By the way, thanks for all the critisism and ideas, if you wouldnt have pushed me to work on it harder it would never be as good as it is. You deserve credits in the release ;) .

^Just noticed an error with the top shoulder patch things (not sure what they're called.). They're both facing the wrong direction.
