I've decided to just keep everything in one thread, so I updated this one.

I plan to release a complete pack of my things which changes every aspect of the game possible visually but maintains the same core DoD feel.

So far I have: Allied model, gear, hands, sleeves. Thompson, BAR, Colt.

Updated the Tommy and the Tiger tank skin.

Whilst you have crazy people like me who release high-end (memory wise I mean) crap that older vidcards would choke on, there is still a strong arguement for the simpler style. Your work is clean and seems good; no reason not to release I would say. Don't fear rejection.

(And if number of downloads really concerns you, just add either or both of the words "realistic" or "realism" to guarantee at least an extra 100 hints)

"Xtreme realistic realism"..... That's worth 300 hits right there even if you drew a clown face for the Axis and a mime face for the Allies.

Okay I admit I'm way off topic.... and slightly sarcastic... Seriously you should package it up and release it.

Looks like a mighty fine edit there.

I thought I should add I'm not being sarcastic to you skin edit; My sarcasm is aimed at the overuse of the words "real, realistic and realism" when naming skin/sound packs.

I really wanted a more tanned flesh tone with darker grain on the face but it's proving to be realllly hard.

I also have a cool idea for the boots.

Thank for the input, keep it up.

Very nice work.

What kind of "hit" do they have, if any, on fps etc?

I'm on a 9800 pro 256, I've noticed myself staying roughly the same, I admit I haven't bothered to check.

I'll also add, when I replaced the old .vtf's mine were much much smaller. I believe the last one I have in there was over 5 megs, mine is under 1 meg.

Nice!!! So its sounding like its kinda "optimized" then??!!

I might give 'em a try when my new graphics card arrives next week to replace this crappy 5950 Ultra.

Did My best to make it look like the real colour.

Comments?

alittle too much blood to make that color, yea 98ks are dark red but Im not really sure you can do it by just recoloring it. Though the metal is nice.

the dirt/mud looks slightly pooish :D
maybe tone it down to a bit darker tone, and you might just rework the mud pattern, i think it looks too predictable
