Cool deal, will check it out this evening and if it's decent enough, I'll throw it on my server for testing!!

TY!!

Not too shabby. I'll put it on our server and see what people have to say. In my opinion, I'd perhaps consider another building on the opposite side of the Allies area (far left, if looking down from the Axis bunker).

That would balance out the map a bit, and maybe a sandbag bunker on the left side of the Axis hill to mirror the new building.

Those are my suggestions.

After testing it out on a full server, I can say that this map just isn't going to make it into our mapcycle. It's fine if you're Allied, but Axis is terribly tedious and frustrating.

Only in a game does the side with the high-ground find themselves with the disadvantage.

Sorry man, but as far as your mapping abilities go, I'm sure you'll do very well in the future. Visually, this map was a success. Tactically, we just did not enjoy this map at all.

The final flag for the Axis is nearly impossible to cap, while the Allies had almost no problem at all in capping out.

The center flag is heavily slanted to benefit the Allies as well, who can snipe us as we run down the hill, but cannot be touched by Axis snipers who are on the opposite side of the hill.

Sorry but I felt the texturing needs some work before we would put this up, the textures to the cliff look terribly stretched.

...but hey dont lose heart the SDK must be out soon and I know that will make life a lot easier for mappers.

tbh I cant believe the Valve delayed this, especially as they only released source with 4 maps so you'd think they would be relying on you guys to flesh out the content and would provide you the tools to do so.

Only one complaint, fix the terrain. Its too rough and visually displeasing in points.

Fair enough if you want rouch terrain but at some points it looks like there are pyramids made out of grass. I just reckon you should smooth out some points a bit. Or if you want some parts rough, use a rock texture.

yes, it is still present in beta2 and 1 more thing .....

did you consider spawn protection?
or some type of wall or ramp that the axis and allies can not get into?

mumblyjoe

^^ As above. Otherwise nice work on the terrain, looks much better and much easier to get trough (no more getting stuck on jagged edges)
One idea though for future releases: move the allied spaw back a lot more and add a fair amount more houses. Make the game last longer and more interesting.
