Download Map (6MB) (http://xsgamedesign.com/source/maps/dod_giza_b4.zip)

This map is based on the Giza Platue in Egypt.

The Axis are entrenched in the Western Mastabas,
west of the Great Pyramid of Khufu.

The Allies are coming ashore from the river Nile,
east of the Great Sphinx.

Secure all the control points on the Giza Plateu to win.

Suggestions and feedback welcome. The pyramid tomb interiors are close to ready.
When the official SDK is out I will start working towards a final build.

For now you can check out and play the beta builds at our mapping guild's server.

I love how the sand and the water both look so smooth.

Heh, its not relevant, but cover the Sphynx's feet with sand, as they were under sand during WW2 :D

We've had this on our server for a while now. Its fun to watch the dead bodies slide down the sides of the pyramids.

Noob question:

To install it on the server do I just need the .bsp, or do I need to upload the other folders contents as well?

Rommel's goal in Egypt during 1942 was to reach Cairo and liberate it from the British with help from the local Arabs that wanted them out anyway.

Rommel reached the defensive system at El Alamein, 96km west of Alexandria and 240km west of Cairo. But at this point, Axis forces were completely exhausted with only 50 tanks and relied on captured supplies and equipment.

Giza is on the outskirts of Cario so he fell a bit short of his goal capturing it. But I for one am glad a battle never took place at Giza. The structures there have been battered and pillaged enough over the centuries as it is.

Hey Supa,

I see on www.dodsourcemaps.com that there is a b8 and a rockets_b8 but I don't see any changes other than you added some landing craft and tanks. Are there any other changes?

b8 and rockets_b8 are the same map. Its that some people prefer a rocket/assault only class restrict . I renamed a copy of the map to use that restict config so people could vote for it.

Whats new besides the landingcraft and tanks? The pyramids got an update.

They now shed bricks when rockets or grenades damage the sides. Also the two biggest myds, khafre and khufu now have secret tombs that, if you can find and enter, are a safer place to capture them.
